Gregory gave me the heads up to start a thread solely based on JMMA. So here it is. I'll mainly be focusing on everything JMMA oriented, so I'll continuously post cards, updates, results, info and more. Results will have their own separate threads. Enjoy your JMMA!

According to sources close Nam Yui Chul the UFC have contacted him about possibly signing. I would say it's likely if he wasn't the ROAD champ. They did let Kang go to the UFC when he was champ but Nam is on a complete different level of popularity in South Korea so they might be a bit more hesitant letting him go. On top of that the CEO of ROAD has lately been vocally against the UFC's practices in Asia. I also get the feeling they still really want to see the culmination of the Nam/Kwon A Sol beef which would've easily been the biggest fight in Korean MMA history before Kwon's military stint and would still probably be the biggest draw ROAD has.

Nam Yui Chul got the green light from the ROAD CEO to sign with the UFC if they should approach with a contract.

Call me a downer but I'm not pumped about Chul either. Dude is exciting though, I'll give him that. DARE has some sick production.

I dont think he will be champ or anything but he could sneak into the top 10 I think, possibly the best LW in Asia. More than likely hes a 15-20 guy that's very exciting and one of the biggest Korean draws in South Korea

ROAD FC has opened an official gym in Gangnam. Seo Doo Won is the head coach and Bin Yoon Hyung, Lee Seung Yun will coach in their respective specialties. It will be open to all ROAD FC fighters, including foreigners

3 more signings for the Singapore card: Brodinho, Dave Galera, and Royston Wee. Issa is the best of the group by far and should fit in well, Galera is decent but a bit unproven, and I dont know much about Royston but he becomes the first Singaporean fighter in UFC history and he auditioned for TUF China but they decided to outright sign him for this card
Galera and Wee will be fighting each other while Issa waits on a fight.
Also announced is PXC vet Jon Delos Reyes will fight Dustin Kimura on the card

Singapore card is by far one of the cards I'm most excited for in a long time...

I have no idea why the UFC keep signing these guys out of nowhere. I know it's because they're Asian, but there's so many better Asian fighters to sign.

I don't think signing any of these guys is as random as signing Tezuka though.

Dammit Aoki. ****** signings. Those two guys are way worse than Tezuka or someone like Issei.

According to the UFC, Jumabieke Tuerxun has not been signed by them. I have a feeling the RUFF contract is ******* him over.

That puts an end to that. There's been rumors of him having signed with the UFC for a long while.

Knew that one for awhile, he's been fighting pretty much every month since he was supposedly signed. I don't think it has anything to do with RUFF though.




As far as the Asian signings, it's all business. They know to really sell their brand they need local stars and established talent from the area. Guys like Chope and Galera are huge names in Southeast Asia. Brodinho trains out of Evolve (in Singapore) and I think would have been signed eventually anyways with wins over Imanari, Saadulaev, Kim Soo Chul, a few big regional wins here and there and his only loss in over 5 years is to Soo Chul. He's also a multiple time BJJ world champ. Royston apparently tried out for TUF China so maybe they were impressed by him and he comes from a solid camp. De Los Reyes is also a solid talent out of Guam that has fought in the area and is still young.
They are looking towards the future, not only are they looking to sell towards Singapore but they are also hoping a few of them win and will be marketable for the Macau card a few months later. Something tells me that with all these signings they will be visiting the area again before the end of 2014. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a few more under the radar guys get signed soon.


Also Tae Hyun Bang (who Tap has the wrong name for btw, he no longer goes by Seung Hwan) vs Mairbek Taisumov is being rumored, great signings if true

Taisumov vs. Bang in the UFC? That would be amazing. Bang is an OG and Taisumov is pretty G himself. Puts *****s to sleep like Sengoku Sandro.
