Who are the best fighters without a title?

It's a appreciation List for every Fighter you think is the best out there without a title in a big organization.

And with big organization i mean the UFC of course, Pride, WEC, Strikeforce or Bellator.

Have fun...

I just saw this, thought it was an awesome idea. Rogerio Nogueira is the clear cut number one in my opinion, had he beat Rua (extremely close decision) he would have won that GP. Great idea for a list.

Also Yves Edwards!

I'll add more later, but when I read the title Yves was the first guy I thought of.  His fight VS Thomson would have been for the title if the UFC wasn't about to drop the lightweight division.

Sakuraba never won a championship, right?

This is it for now. I include Mirko because I don't consider GP championships as real championships, nor do I include UFC 4 man tournaments as real championships. Championships are when You are the Organizations divisional champion of the world.

@anik correct.  unless i need a refresher on my history, saku never held a Pride belt.  however, there weren't any belts to be had early on when he was picking up his best wins.

Sak would have been Pride's champion if they had belts at the time. He fought Wanderlei Silva in the first Pride MW (LHW) championship bout. He was really the uncrowned king of Pride at the time which makes him perfect for the list.

Sakuraba and Cro Cop are two great ones that I didn't think of. I always just think of Sak as the early champion of PRIDE, but he never even held a belt, despite dominating the competition for 3 years.

Those 4 man tournaments aren't real title sure you get a little medal but it's not a top of your division thing. I feel the same way with the GP tournaments. Sak actually only won 1 fight as well for that "tournament".

i would say the tournament don't count but the early championchips do. UFC Japan for example Shamrock and Couture won the title Saku just the tournament. Kind of unfair but the tournament winners aren't titleholders...

I have Kerr on my list so I assume the tournaments don't count.
