what the ****. the kid is lying and misbehaving, so his dad tries to teach him a little lesson. i can't imagine houston just tried to kill the kid, this is stupid.

Doesn't sound like he was really abusing his kid. But the law is the law, so getting a misdemeanor offense is probably about what you could expect.  There's got to be a better way to discipline your son.

I think thats an awesome way to handle a lot of situations with ****y kids (not saying HA's kid is or not just saying i deal with a lot of stupid kids id love to drag into a boxing ring).

I agree in certain circumstances it could be a good way to get some humility, respect and maturity out of a punk kid.  But I don't think there's any good way to write such a law.

@greg i agree about the difficulty in writing a law about it. But maybe it could be as simple as parental consent to a reasonable amount.  Like obviously if you beat the kid into coma its jail, but even a mild knockout or bloody nose should be fine.  Especially if they have an impartial ref for the fight.

Adults should be able to control themselves from going too far but we all know "should" rarely actually comes true.
