William Knight, TKO, R2
I'm not really sold on Knight. Watching what little of his tape is available he seems gas prone and unable to fight with any kind of flow. His one loss doesn't really bother me all that much, he just got caught with that crazy cameroon power. Cody Brundage has a soft ass record, so watching his tape made me think he was decent-ish. But watching him struggle to land first round TD on a 13-15 fighter made me lose confidence in his ability to acheive his one path to victory. In addition to that he seems to be a very hesitant fighter, which is going to be exacerbated by fighting someone like Knight who looks like a baby ngannou. I'll eat my words if Brundage can land the TD and control, but I'm fairly confident Knight has this one.
Johnson vs. Lawrence
Jose Johnson, TKO, R2
Ronnie Lawrence can't really be judged by his loss to Steve Garcia. But he can be judged by his wins which are super underwhelming. Jose Johnson has taken the old school approach to fighting; just get in there and do the damn thing. He's fight a lot of tough big names in the regional circuit, and for ****s sake the man fought 20 times in 2015 alone as an amateur. He's had a few record padding fights as a pro, but he's finished them emphatically. I like him here, I think Ronnie Lawrence is just way too green to take advantage of any of the holes in Jose's game, not that I actually saw that many watching tape.
Baghdasaryan vs. Buzukia
Dennis Buzukia, DEC
Why on earth are these guys on the contender series? Jesus Christ. Well, time for some MMAth. They're both 4-1, but Dennis' opponents' cumulative W/L record is 12/12, which is absolutely disgusting. BUT WAIT, Melsik's opponents' cumulative W/L record is 9/12. Good god, why can't they move this to the first fight of the night so I can skip it more easily.
Flick vs. Smith
Nate Smith, DEC
Here we go. My FotN pick for this contender. Smith is a very experienced amateur, which in Nebraska counts for a decent amount since unlike the softer states and europe we don't have any regulatory body so it's literally the same as a pro fight in terms of rules. So smith has like 20 ammy fights under his belt where he learned the tragic lesson that all wrestlers in MMA eventually learn: BJJ > Wrestling when the wrestler can't defend subs. Since going pro and moving out to Elevation he's looked like a totally transformed fighter. But he has a tough ******* out in Jimmy Flick, who is one of the best flyweights outside the UFC for sure. He's only lost when he fights at bantamweight and is scrappy as all hell. In terms of experience I don't really see too much of a difference here despite Jimmy having way more pro fights. And skill wise I see them being pretty even with Smith taking the wrestling slightly and Flick taking the striking slightly. This might be the first time I say this for a flyweight bout, but I think this fight comes down to cardio. With both of them cutting a lot of weight and Flick taking this on short notice I don't know how the pace will be for this one. Regardless, it'll be nice to see another Nebraska fighter make it to the UFC so I'll take Smith.

Dennis Buzukja, TKO, R2
At first I was going to pick Baghdasaryan. But then I noticed that he was an Armenian fighting out of Glendale, California. Yes, thats right, another of Coach Edmonds disciples!!!! Expect over confidence, lots of "Head MoveMENT!!!", "World Class" Boxing that consists of an overhand right and nothing else! All wrapped up in less than a round of Cardio. Yeah, I'll take Buzukja here!!
Flick vs. Smith
Jimmy Flick, SUB, R2
Pity these 2 have been matched up against each other as I think both guys would be great additions to the UFC Flyweight edition. Flick is a solid veteran with some slick BJJ, his arm triangle is nice. Smith is the modern fighter, good all around, another guy with a tonne of amateur fights(20+). This should be a fun, fast paced, scramble fest!!!
Johnson vs. Lawrence
Jose Johnson, TKO, R1
Man, that elbow truly was a HellBow!!! Nasty AF!!! 1 of those KO's you are amazed by the technique then concerned about the fighter who was KO'd. Ii really hope Johnson can get himself a nice finish and a contract tonight. He has real clean Muay Thai and his takedown defence keeps improving. He hit that Hellbow while defending a takedown. He has plenty experience too, he has 50 amatuer MMA bouts!!! Plus some Boxing, Muay Thai and Kickboxing!!!! Closing in on 100 fights and he's only 25!!!

Glamorous New Predictions
Predictions: 1 of 4 Winners, 1 Perfect, 75 Points | Tied for 594th
I am going with Tucker Lutz at -470. He has a zen full guard. Lutz is about to avoid the adversary.
Baghdasaryan vs. Buzukja
I prefer Dennis Buzukja at -130. He has a delusional suplex. Buzukja must damage the adversary. Beep boop!
Johnson vs. Lawrence
I appoint Jose Johnson at -340. He has a homemade mindset. Johnson is about to feign the canvas.
Knight vs. Brundage
I want Cody Brundage at -160. He has a uppity overhand. Brundage isn't about to assist the counteragent.
