With Rockhold the new Strikeforce Middleweight Champion,

I think it's safe to say that Tim Kennedy could be his next challenge.

They were originally supposed to fight in March, but due to a Rockhold injury, they cancelled the bout.

There couldn't be a better time to bring Tim Kennedy up for the title fight.

He's the most deserving fighter in SF Middleweight division in my opinion.

How do you guys feel about this one?

Tim Kennedy put on his Facebook yesterday that he was supposedly fighting the winner of Souza vs. Rockhold, so I think you're right in assuming that he's next in line for the title shot.  I also think that Kennedy has a very good chance of winning this fight, and that it should be an entertaining one as well.  Rockhold did a good job defending Souza's take down attempts, forcing Souza to step out of his comfort zone and strike it out with him.  Kennedy is well versed at both striking and grappling, so I think he'll be prepared to go wherever this fight takes him.

I'd take Kennedy by a unanimous decision victory.

@Lawman,

I agree with your assessment of the fight. And with your pick, Kennedy should get the decision win in an all out, technical matchup of good stand-up and grappling.

Tim is definately next in line for the title shot, and the winner of this will probably be the last SF MW champ before Strikeforce gets folded into the UFC...that being said, I have no idea how this fight is gonna play out

I'm still in shock... so I won't comment on the Jacare fight, but I agree with all you guys... Tim deserves the shot.

Yeah, I couldn't believe Jacare lost to Rockhold, either.  I'm very disappointed.

I'm not too disappointed,

I think Kennedy has the tools to beat Rockhold or Souza.

Redkayak is a girl...? I'm not gonna hate on Rockhold or anything but I thought he lost, so I'll take Kennedy if they fought.

I really don't know how to take a guess how Strikeforce's is handling their booking...but off of their current roster Kennedy is most likely next in line

Wouldn't mind seeing this fight. Jacare had a long layoff but Rockhold still looked super impressive.

Oh by the way, Rockhold is hotter.

I'd like to see Kennedy vs. Jacare to decide Rockhold's next fight. A lot of people thought Jacare won the fight, there are no other MW's for him to fight and he has a W over Kennedy. Kennedy's last performance doesn't exactly demand a title shot either.
