I think hardy would take it but would be a war for sure.

Akiyama would KO Hardy in the first. Sorry @thiago

Then how would Sexyama beat Hardy if he were to be victorious? If it wasn't TKO/KO?

Sexy has more ways to win against Hardy, and I'd strongly say he has the better stand up. If Chris Lytle can maneuver his way around Hardy and pick him apart. Sexy is going to light up Hardy on the feet. If it closes the distance Sexy can clinch and take down if he works really hard for it. I can't see it  being an easy task and it'd be hugging against the cage, but I can't see Hardy winning that fight.

@body Lytle is a class a striker and boxed professionally, Akiyama is not. hardy would **** Akiyama up on the feet. Bisping, Leben and Belfort all beat him standing. hardy would be no different. Akiyama can take a beating so he could last to a decision but i think hardy would out strike him greatly.

That's only a biased opinion. But I'll bite. Lytle has dabbled with boxing. Of course. But Sexy will be able to pick apart Hardy on the outside with his strikes. Only way Hardy can touch Sexy if he stands in the pocket with him long enough to get hit a lot. I can't see Sexy standing there exchanging in the pocket.
Bisping and Belfort are higher up the rankings compare to Sexy. Sexyama is very well rounded and will be more relevant to the WW picture. A little power and umph will be added to those strikes as well. I'd love to av/sig bet you if this fight ever comes to fruition. I'm that confident Sexy would beat Hardy to a decision.

@body I actually dont believe this is bias. this is just what i think. but please tell me in what fight have you seen Akiyama not stand in the pocket and trade? if he done it with Leben he would do it with hardy and get tagged.

He has a better all around striking compared to Hardy. That's the reason why they are both in the similar kind of boat. They just can't hang with top competition, but I would put Sexy in front of Hardy. He can use his more versatile striking and overwhelm Hardy. I don't think Hardy is a slouch but I don't think he'd beat Sexy.
Sexy did stand in front of Leben, but he has the ability not to. All he has to do is stay on the outside and not be in danger in the pocket and beat Hardy.
Up for that Av/Sig bet if it happens?

Nice. I like that you stick by your opinion. It would be a war and it's all in good fun.

I like the humbleness and eagerness to learn that he shows.  Gsp's apprentice is great.  Sexy vs hardy will be hardys exit from the ufc.

Akiyama will do better at 170. Looks like Dana and Joe Silva finally talked him in into it. They've been asking him to drop to ww for awhile now. I'm thinking maybe a Rory Macdonald vs Sexy would be a good fight.

@p4p i think they should start him off with a slightly lower opponent.  Rory right now would use him as a stepping stone.

@piercer you never know though. Akiyama is a very skilled tough guy who now has good size at 170. He'd be a tough test for Macdonald. Sexy vs Hardy I don't wanna see. Hardy should be fighting a lesser opponet then Akiyama.

@p4p I really like akiyama i just think at this point combined with his first fight at 170, rory would win.  Potentially great fight after akiyama is used to the cut.
