That's sad to hear, but unfortunately I'm not very surprised it was a heart attack.

He always seemed like a really good guy, and his suplex on Fedor and his leaping left hook on Cro Cop I will never forget. He died young, he seemed to really love his kids who he left behind too. Very, very tragic and I'm sorry to hear it. I hope he's doing squats in Valhalla.

Just saw the report myself.  Sad news.

Unfortunately, I assume a lot of the early UFC/Pride guys are starting to get into health problems from the beatings and the steroids, with Mark Kerr and Gary Goodridge being obvious examples.

That's one of the reasons I'm not real fond of older fighters coming back for a paycheck, a la the Shamrock-Gracie fight next week.

Damn. Aside from the Fedor slam, but biggest memory of Randlemen is the huge upset over Cro Cop in Pride. That was crazy.

Let's turn this into a respect thread.

These guys may have injected who know's what into their bodies throughout their careers, but so were their contemporaries.

Randleman wasn't even a trained martial artist and he fought during the wild west era of MMA, transitioning into the Pride FC era during the early 2000's. He fought Cro Cop, Fedor, Shogun (twice), Rampage, Bas Rutten, Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, Ninja.

Respect.
