Wouldn't it be something if the UFC brought Hendo in once again with another organization's belt and have him fight a unification bout...How pissed would Rashad be if they had Hendo jump him in line!?!

It only makes sense if SF and the UFC merge.. then I would agree... you need a unification bout.  But if Hendo just signs with the UFC and vacates his SF belt, then he should have to have a #1 contender fight as the ex-champ of SF.

Maybe he should fight Evans for the #1 status.

Yeah, in the event of a merger I agree -- it would make sense to have a unification bout.  I don't think it would necessarily be fair to take a guy's earned title and and say it isn't worth anything.  He's still a champion, and to have the two champs fight to determine the undisputed one, would be the only way to do it fairly.

Having him fight Evans would be badass! A clear-cut #1 contender would emerge with no confusion.

there are plenty of fighters for him to fight a #1 contenders fight, Rashad deserves the title shot more than anyone else.  I would rather see Hendo fight at 185 and fight Sonnen

@skeet2b: they're teammates... I doubt Sonnen and Hendo would fight in the near future, regardless of the lawsuit between Hendo and Linland

yea I know but I still  want to see it, I hate the whole teammates thing, Hendo and Sonnen would make one of the best matches ever

No matter what happens with rampage and jones i want to see evans against jones and hendo against rampage.  Two fights that need to happen, and are both really close to the title situation, and would answer a **** ton of questions.

Hendo already faught Page though... I'm not too interested in that.  I'd like to see Hendo/Jones for unification if they merge.  If not, Hendo/Rashad.. Hendo/Machida would both be good fights.

Don't you have to be signed with an organization to be its number one contender?

I want Hendo back in the big leagues as much as the next guy, but one step at a time, when (if?) he gets signed I'll get on the war wagon.

Its not a crazy claim. Hendo is badass. Many good elite fights for him in the UFC.

I think I would agree with Hendo in that if he vacates the Strikeforce LHW belt he deserves a shot for the UFC LHW. Guys like Rampage and Evans may get a match with him after that.

@Piercerdan, I really want to see that fight too hopefully if they do it again it will be another 5 rounder.  I think Hendo will win if they fight again

i agree dan should be the #1 contender because he dominated everyone he fought in SF at 205 (including fedor which he weighed in at 206 for) and i honestly cant think of anyone who would be a better match up for bones jones other then rashad and dan is just a better version of him

hendo gets shot ONLY IF evans cant fight...its only fair, the guy has earned the number one contender spot twice now!

I dont think hendo beats jones.  I love hendo but the reach disadvantage and the drastic speed disadvantage are huge.  Hendo gets bullied and submitted.  There is a chance hendo could drop him with a punch but jones would stay so far away in any stand up exchange.

Hendo and Sonnen aren't teammates anymore...Hendo is in CA and Sonnen is in Oregon...The Team Quests don't have anything to do with each other
