@Skell Not unreasonable to believe Poirier will survive. He went all 3 rounds with Swanson and Castillo. It took KZ until some time in round 4 to submit him.

Pulling for Poirier hard, but in the top 10, this is probably the most winnable fight for Conor McGregor. McGregor is very accurate, and as Gunn said, Poirier is easy to hit. I've yet to see Dustin look "bad" in any of his fights under the ZUFFA banner. UFC and WEC. Even is his losses to Poirier and Swanson, he didn't look bad. Looking at his most recent fights, the one that makes me worry most isn't even a loss, it's the fight with Corassani. Corassani cracked him a few times. On paper that should have been an easy win for Dustin, and sure, anything can happen, but Dustin did not look good against a guy he should have looked great against.

Brandao also dropped Poirier. This will be a stiff test, but I agree that it's a good match-up for McGregor.

I basically consider Poirier the Cerrone of 145. He's a gatekeeper to the top 5 that could one day rise to the challenge and break in there himself. Offensively, he's a title contender. Defensively, he's poor.

As for the haters, I was referring to McGregor's haters.

Huge fan of Poirier. But I'm all in on McGregor. I hope he continues his ascent to top of the division and eventually fights for the FW belt.

Got McGregor winning this. I just think his striking is at the top of this division. He should be a step better than Poirier.

Wow.....I'm really surprised this did not open at near even. I was expecting it to open with one of them being -115 and the other at +105, or possibly both at -105. At +185, McGregor is a really good value in this fight.

Wow!

I don't bet, but jesus I definitely should on this one. McGregor is crazy value at +190. Those lines will be shifting soon.

Crazy right? If Conor even stays the underdog (not necessarily a +190) I'm putting some cheese on him ... never made a bet in my life, but this could be a great cherry-popper for me ... nothing substantial, but something for sure ...

Wow wish I would have seen Conor as a +190 favorite. Would have bet nice on that one. -150 is still not too bad.

I think a lot of people are underestimating just how good Dustin Poirier is.

I'm not underestimating Dustin -- I think it's just a bad match-up for him. Defensively, he's very hittable, and Conor is one of the most accurate strikers in MMA right now. Not a good mix. Of course, if Poirier can manage to make it a grappling match, it should favor him.

I think a lot of you aren't getting yet just how good Conor is ... him beating Poirier won't be a testament to Poirier not being a good fighter ...

@skelli, I'm pretty sure Conor can out-grapple Poirier too (yeah yeah, I know, Joseph Duffy, blah, blah) ... I guess time will tell ...
