Bad news: That Shogun doesn't exist anymore
Good news: It doesn't take that Shogun to beat Te-Huna, I think he's still got enough in the tank for this one.

EDIT:: Strike that, hope, not think. I've been going back and forth on this one.

Shogun has been in many battles and the fact that he went on the record to say he will stand toe-to-toe in a "crowd pleaser" with Te Huna is not good omen.

On paper, Rua has way more ways to win this fight. I hope he shows up with a smart game plan because he won't last long if he goes back to his Pride roots against a power puncher like James.

The Big Te Huna. Shogun just isn't a fighter you can rely on anymore, the truth is he was at 23 better than arguably any Light Heavyweight in the entire UFC except Gus and Jones and now presumably in a Light Heavyweights prime he's not even a fragment of his former self.

Shogun is breaking down he's been plagued by injuries forever, he can't even train enough to keep his technique sharp or his cardio up to par. I think Te Huna is still growing as a fighter, I think he's a huge LHW who has the tools to beat Shogun. Also with Caceres's fight off I need more dog picks as I'm like 225th to get dat 1st place cash.

I think Shogun is done for, he hasn't been the "old" Shogun for quite a long time.

Rua is just inconsistent. Te Huna won't be one of the guys to beat Shogun. In his last 5 he has lost to Dan Henderson in an AWESOME fight that could have went either way. He lost to Alexander Gustafsson and quite honestly, there isn't much shame in that. And he has lost to Chael who has been unstoppable unless fighting black dudes for the last few years. Te Huna doesn't belong in the same sentence as any of those guys.

Jimmo rocked Te Huna pretty hard with that head kick and I guarantee Shogun punches harder than Jimmo kicks.

I'm pretty sure Shogun doesn't punch as hard as a headkick, even if that's an exaggeration...it's ******* ridiculous.

I don't think Te Huna's anything special, but he's definitely hungrier and I think he'll take a decision as Shogun gasses.

If Shogun ever were to fight smart, it would be this fight. Shogun has pretty decent submission skills and TeHuna is not as savy on the ground.

Shogun should take this. His best chance is going for the sub. but Shogun hardly uses his BJJ sub. skills which sucks because it's fairly good.

I see this fight ending up like the Shogun vs. Vera fight with Shogun gassing but still having enough in the tank to stop Te Huna.

I know Shogun's well past his prime, but him being the underdog is a bit strange.

Dayum! Te-Huna looked like Shogun's daddy at the weigh-ins ... and that's when they're both at the same weight ... at fight night he's going to be massive in comparison ...
