Bellator must be getting desperate with their heavier divisions. Dont get me wrong, I love some Baroni but he isnt exactly a top fighter anymore and when he loses in a few weeks he will be 2 fights under .500 and he is currently 2-6 in his last 8 (granted he does fight tough comp).

They'll use him to push their younger welterweights who're looking for a spot in the upcoming welterweight tournaments.

I wouldn't mind seeing Baroni vs. Cosmo Alexander.

Baroni is clearly pretty desperate at this stage of his career.. Having Bellator be interested in you but not rate you highly enough to include you in their tournament despite you having quite a big name says a lot...

Could be that he just wasn't feeling the tournament. He is getting old. Maybe his body couldn't take fighting that often.

Interesting acquisition... at least he's a big name that can put a young guy over should that young guy beat him.  I think it's pretty clear Bellator wants to see if he has anything left in him before they put him in a tournament, welterweight is one of Bellator's better divisions after all, they don't have to put him in it.  It'll be nice for Baroni to get one last hurrah in a major organization before he retires.

That's a big name that can still take a brawl. I think it's a good move for Bellator. My opinion may change after his first outing, though. So, not in torney? It's The New York Bad Ass :-)

Bellator is probably looking for some name recognition.

I used to like Baroni alot back in the day. He's seems partially ******** but I still love him as a commentator too. I wonder who they get for him to fight now...
