Yes he was cut after his recent KO loss to Jeremy Stephens at UFC 125. He is currently negotiating with various promotions regarding his return to action, and I should be the first one to hear when he signs.

Even more disappointing since he looked very good for his first cut to 155. He will be staying in that weight division going forward.

I dont think he should of been cut for losing to a very good fighter in Jeremy Stephens .... they should of given him another chance at lightweight... hope he does well outside of ufc ...

I like Marcus Davis. Biggest problem is he just doesn't have the chin anymore. He's getting knocked out too easily and it will only get easier each subsequent time. I know Marcus needs to make an income but I don't like seeing him KTFO'd.

I think that's a problem that could largely be rectified by this move to 155. Unfortunately, Marcus's debut fight at the lighter weight class was against that division's heaviest hitter, according to many.

Marcus was dominating that fight much like Chuck was against Rich Franklin; to be honest, i thought both of them should've had one more shot in the octagon being they looked as good as they did.

Always love watching Marcus Davis fight. He's one of those fighters who will bring it every single time he steps into the cage. It's really too bad that his chin has softened up as much as it has.
I think Davis should have been given at least one more fight at lightweight given his good performance against Stephens, but at the same time the UFC did just bring in a whole new crop of lightweights from the WEC so it's going to be tough for any lightweight to keep their job after consecutive losses.
As long as Marcus Davis keeps fighting though I'll always be a fan and will always watch him put on a show.
