Tanner wins anything but a robbery if he just goes way to leg kick crazy.

Boser arguably won both of the splits against him and is notoriously very hard to finish. Ion is notorious for gassing after less than a round and a half.

You make a good point that Ion has been fighting guys who could be heavyweights but Boser has literally been fighting heavyweights.

I can't stress enough that if Ion wasn't a spazz who relied so much on his athleticism and had a little better fight IQ id probably take him here.

Phillips vs Bolanos

Predictions: 5 of 14 Winners, 1 Perfect, 305 Points   |   Tied for 3615th

Phillips, Sub, Rd2
I really think everyone is counting out his ability to grapple. As someone that knows Phillips personally, I have seen him grapple many times before and I feel as that can cause many problems to Bolanos who has very little experience in that area of fighting.

Boser's fights are hard to watch back

Predictions: 10 of 14 Winners, 4 Perfect, 655 Points   |   Tied for 67th

The man is a statue of inactivity, so I'm not surprised he lost those split decisions. He just looks to counter and doesn't even counter with anything crazy. Usually just a winging an overhand or slapping a low kick. So much of his fights are just him backing up waiting for opponents to throw. And it is hard to say how hard he really hits. The OSP KO means nothing to me and same for the Pessoa KO.

He has to look special in this fight to not be a hard fade in the future. His body looks ready for LHW, but he still fights like a HW who throws 1 or 2 pot shots and can't wrestle for his life. He just has gotten any better technically over the course of his UFC career. Just a lot of stance switches and low volumes. And he doesn't use his lead hand a lot so he can be pretty predictable.

I could see this fight looking a lot like the Cutelaba/Roundtree fight. Or Ion gasses and looks like a dufus.

Voluptuous New Predictions

Predictions: 7 of 13 Winners, 3 Perfect, 425 Points   |   Tied for 1948th

Barboza vs. Quarantillo
I am sniffing Billy Quarantillo at -180. He has a formal attitude. Quarantillo shall attempt the feat.

Edwards vs. Pudilová
I am obsessed with Lucie Pudilová at -135. She has a nutty Samoan driver. Pudilová is gonna damage the feat.

Herman vs. Cummings
I am loyal to Zak Cummings at -225. He has a unique spinning back elbow. Cummings ought to block the underdog.

Brasil vs. Gomes
I trust Bruna Brasil at -155. She has an original chin and a fancy right hand. Brasil is about to excite the crowd noise.

Jacoby vs. Murzakanov
I tap Dustin Jacoby at -160. He has a fabulous butterfly sweep. Jacoby will yank the previous pitfalls.

Brown vs. Algeo
I prefer Bill Algeo at -200. He has a qualified inverted facelock. Algeo could destroy the enemy. I know it!

Royval vs. Nicolau
I desire Matheus Nicolau at -205. He has an automatic clinch and an exotic head coach and also a kooky harai goshi. Nicolau should flaunt the underdog. Hammertime!

Rodriguez vs. Robertson
I am sticking with Gillian Robertson at -135. She has an intelligent counter left. Robertson could sabotage the masterpiece.

Bolaños vs. Phillips
I can't get enough of Gaston Bolaños at -190. He has a tasty crescent kick and a jingoistic Samoan driver and also an advanced lumberjack sweep. Bolaños might quash the crowd noise.

Cutelaba vs. Boser
I have a crush on Ion Cutelaba at -135. He has a poignant five point palm exploding heart technique and an original dragon sleeper. Cutelaba is about to outsmart the cage.

Guida vs. García
I crave Rafa García at -270. He has an accurate back mount. García must capture the dissentient. Держи хвост пистолетом!

Holloway vs. Allen
I have a crush on Max Holloway at -185. He has a tremendous osoto gari. Holloway could block the Octagon.

Munhoz vs. Gutierrez
I choose Chris Gutierrez at -215. He has a captivating character. Gutierrez must tweak the foe.

On vacation so not a lot of research for me this week.

Rafa is my only lock of the card; Nicolau is damn close for me but gotta respect Royval a little there. Most of these fights are very 50/50 but I'm pretty confident in 10/14 of my picks here.

Can't believe I'm picking Ed Herman to win a fight in 2023 but Cummings should probably not be fighting with all the injuries he's had.

I admit Murzakanov is a bit of a homer pick as I'm a huge fan. I'm also a big fan of Jacoby so probably the hardest fight on the card to pick for me besides the main event. I think Murzakanov will use his Sambo and grind out a decision if necessary. Very excited for that one.

Final thing I'll add is I think Allen is live and I thought hard about taking him but beating even a declining Max in your first 5 round UFC fight seems like too tall a task. I'll watch the line and could end up placing a wager on Allen but I can't pick against Holloway here.

Bolaños vs. Phillips
Aaron Phillips, SUB, R2
The things that brought Bolaños to the UFC were his experience in Muay Thai, Kickboxing and his ability to give exciting fights or finishes. Bolaños was 6-3 in Bellator but we all know how weak matchmaking is in Bellator and even there he was tapped twice by two opponents set up to knock them out in one round. Bolaños is the type of fighter who in the UFC could pull off a couple of highlights (depending on the matchmaking), but would likely end up getting choked or losing 30-26 to any fighter who has some basic level of grappling or wrestling experience. Phillips isn't great or relatively good, but if he gets Bolaños's back he surely scores a rear-naked choke finish (a perfect example of that is the Cannetti vs. Costa fight). Bolaños is like a Blood Diamond in terms of level, but at least he got his position based on merit and not because he is the friend/sparring partner of a UFC Champion.

Well yeah, latifi of 3-4 years ago was actually good. If ion & him fought in 2021 ion would’ve killed him. Latifi has no striking to speak of & nobody has outgrappled ion in his ufc tenure. I don’t see how he would lose that fight

Its not that I'm expecting Boser to not get taken down. I all but guarantee you Ion wins the first round. But hes gonna gas and I think Boser could then win rounds 2 and 3.

Maybe Boser will finally be comfortable throwing a little more volume now that he's not fat as **** and in the right weight class?

See I get that, but the thing is ion doesn’t gas when he can hold his opponents down. For example, he gassed against jacoby because jacoby wa s getting up everytime. Then look at the Clark fight, he got takedowns and Clark did not get back up, the result was ion looking fresh as a daisy in round 3. Boser hasn’t shown me he knows how to stand up against worse wrestlers than ion. Pair that with the fact boser has no bjj to speak of & I think this is a favorable fight for ion

Edwards is absolutely not capable of "nullifying" Pudilova's offense. If it somehow won't go her way on feet, she'll take Edwards down and most likely submit her. Remember what I said.
