does anyone know why zabit/kattar is only 3 rounds? is it a russian rule thing? or is the ufc trying to give zabit an advantage? although a small one. if this fight is for the number one contender spot it should most definitely be 5 rounds.

Probably the UFC trying to give Zabit an advantage. Three rounds is much better for him against a guy like Kattar because the more low output you have to be against him the more likely it is he will end your life with one.....his power is insane. I suppose in terms of value Zabit is better for the promotion. He's more likely to bring new eyes than Kattar anyway. Make no mistake though Russian Nationals don't have much love for the 'soviet block' fighters, which includes Dagestanis.
I think people are writing Kattar off far too easily here. He has wins over Lamas, Burgos and Fili. All good strikers that can be very elusive. Well not Burgos.... but Lamas and Fili. I dunno man, I've taken Zabit because he is very hard to catch and has more ways to win, but my gut is screaming Kattar for whatever reason.

ive taken zabit by decision also. but i wouldnt be surprised at all if kattar flatlines him. i think its pretty chicken **** of the ufc if that is the case. it makes me want to pull for kattar just because the ufc and especially dana suck most of the time.

I dunno free. My feeling is fighters try and create situations for themselves that result in the most financial and professional reward possible while incurring as little physical and professional risk as possible. The choices they make to achieve those ends can take many forms, and I suppose they are ultimately shaped by realities of opportunity.

I haven't looked into this Zabit/Kattar situation specifically. But something to consider is fighters sign a specific bout agreement which specifies the number of rounds. At the time Zabit/Kattar signed their bout agreements, this fight would not have been slated as the main event. This could make it more complicated to change it to 5 rounds. It might require that they re-open negotiations with the fighters and get them to sign new bout agreements.

All of the snowflake writers at SB Nation and morally superior sherdoggers cant analyze Hardy. They all got HDS.
Volkov is going to get lit up and afterward all the crybabies are going to act like it didnt happen.

To clarify, I really like Zane Simon and his podcast partner, but Eugene Robinson is unlistenable.

@bestpicker I am particularly displeased with that because I had to click "remove" like 80 times on your stupid posts. once back from your suspension please don't do this again if you want to keep your account.
