Ariel Helwani is reporting that Dodson is moving up to the BW division. MM is so good, he is making fighters flee the FW lol

John Dodson is moving up to the bantamweight division (Per @ArielHelwani). Anyone want to see Dillashaw vs. Dodson II?

I would have liked to see Benavidez/Dodson, but it looks like that may not happen - at least anytime soon. How many fights until we see a Dodson/Dillashaw II?

I say give it about two to three fights at the most until Dodson gets Dillashaw: at least one tune up fight against a veteran of the division and one fight against a top ten opponent, and then you will see Dodson get a shot at the 135 strap.

I just hope that his height doesn't work against him.  There is a lot of fighters at 135 that are taller than Dodson and I hope that doesn't play a factor into how his run at bantamweight will go.

I don't think Dodson is good enough to beat the much larger top BWs like Sterling, Faber, Assuncao, Dillashaw. He's a threat to anyone with his combination of speed, athleticism and power but I don't even think he makes it to a title shot barring they give him tough matchups.

@Nomad  The radical difference in height would be definitely apparent when Dodson fights at 135.  To me it really makes me wonder why the UFC would allow him to jump up in weight; besides the fact that the champ of the division doesn't want to move up, even though I think Mighty Mouse could soundly beat fighters like Sterling and Assuncao.  I mean Dodson is a very good fighter, but his style of fighting will be against him when he fights those bigger fighters; who will probably use a similar strategy to what DJ used against him in the second title fight to take away his advantage of speed and power.

When you've got a KO win over the current seemingly unbeatable champion of the division why would the UFC stop him?

Also, I don't see any reason the UFC should stop anyone from fighting in any division as long as they can safely make the weight. I'm pretty sure Dodson makes 135 easily ;)

Might as well. He's not beating DJ in this lifetime.
