Pat white showed a lot of heart and resilience tonight in a loss to a tough Lucas Martins. He overcame some early adversity in the first round to win the second. i think if he fights like he did tonight he'll be a tough out for a lot of fighters in the UFC for years to come. He need to work on his striking D a little bit, but i have no doubt this loss will teach and motivate him for fights to come. What did you all see in his fight tonight?

Alex White, but I agree. He showed a lot of heart. He's still young, his skills will develop in time and his heart and desire to win will be there for a while.

Alex White?

He looked okay... he's UFC caliber but now it's a shark tank and he's going to have to continuously improve and keep focused in order to climb the ranks.

I actually used to think that both he and Steve Slaton would be NFL starters. Lol, was I drunk at college or what?

Well, Pat White never had the throwing mechanics or pocket presence to make it as an NFL QB. But Slaton did look ok his first year or so, I think he had a little fumblitis though.

Pat White was a poor man's Vince Young. People are so amazed with athleticism sometimes, they forget that skill matters too.

If you can have athleticism and skill...ooh boy, you get guys like Steve Young, Donovan McNabb and Mike Vick.

In college ball an athletic QB can take you quite far. It just doesn't transition to the NFL. Where every person on the team is insanely athletic.

Pat White came into the NFL when the wildcat was popular. Miami thought he would be perfect for it. He always ran scared in the NFL I thought. At WVU though he would hit a hole and be gone!

Pat white playing in the CFL is kinda disappointing. West Virginia won 4 straight bowl games with him. Nobody has ever done that (the same QB in those 4 years )in close to 150 years of college football.
