I was following him since I saw him in his first 2 pro fights in Quebec. I wonder if it's not a bit too soon for him.. he's only 21!

Damn he beat Mansour and Reese, sounds like now is better than being late and letting Bellator get him.

He's a really good prospect. He also hasn't faced any chumps. Everyone he has beaten has a winning record and or given them there first loss. He'll be fine, just so long as they don't throw him right into the top twenty.

Good to know, In haven't seen much of him (though I'm 4-0 picking his fights ;) ), hopefully they understand he's young and bring him up a bit slower than they did Max Holloway for instance or at least give him the growth time they're giving Holloway ... looks like he's got a good ground game, how's his standup?

He is basic in standup. His ground game far exceeds is striking. He tends to throw a little wild, but does have good potential with his striking, but he'll likely be going to the ground and tapping guys out.

Cool seeing another guy from my state getting in the UFC...can't say I know a whole lot about him though to be honest. I know he's been fighting decent guys though.

@yossgold Yeah but to be fair, comparing any prospect to Max Holloway isn't very fair.

Holloway just needs to improve his gas tank and we're talking about a title contender right there.

lol @ AnikM for overrating the living **** out of poor Max Holloway!

Great signing tho, I would probably pick Lee to beat Holloway if they were in the same weightclass. Just to put things into perspective here...

@die, Holloway would box rings around Lee, what are you talking about ... I agree Anik went a step too far with the contention (and he knows it too, he just wanted to **** with people like you ;) ) ... But you seriously need to brush up on your Holloway viewing ... if Lee weighed in at 155 and Holloway at 145 I'd still pick Holloway by a landslide UD.

lol maybe you should brush up on Lee before you start talking. I think I can assess Holloway pretty good, I'm 6-0 picking him...

He's also on my fav fighter list, love his stand up. That said he's 3-3 in the UFC all because of his ground game. On top of that all of his wins are no longer with the UFC. Including Leonard Garcia who was on a 50 fight losing streak when fighting Max, and people thought Garcia won!!!

Lee is a college wrestler with BJJ skills, considering that Holloway got takendow in almost every fight he had in the UFC, I think Lee would win that easy peasy actually.

Holloway is 3-3 in the UFC because he fought two future contenders (on short notice) and a proven beast in Bermudez (and that fight could've gone either way). Lee is no Poirier, McGregor or Bermudez (or even remotely close) and I've watched his fights in the last couple of days, his TDs against lower opposition were sloppy due to sloppy striking.

Size is more or less the only thing I give Lee over Holloway and that would be nullified by footwork and range.

That said, I'll give you that it's all in theory because Lee is very much an unknown to me so we'll leave our theoretical discussion at that :)

I don't think AnikM is overrating Holloway, just underestimating Kevin Lee. I think he has a good shot to be a title contender.
