Unfortunately for Pat he ****** up, but the nice thing is he is owning his **** up. As bad as people feel for him I am 1000% positive nobody feels as horribly as he does. the guy just coughed up 130,000 ***********ing dollars.
As a burner I may not agree with the pot policy, but it is the policy and all fighters know this and have known this and continue to make the same stupid choice.
At what point does the paycheck outweigh the herb???

And, this from Healy's coach kidna sums up my humble opinion on the matter (especially the part I highlighted which is this whole argument in a nutshell):
"For me, I have a no tolerance policy. For me, testing positive regardless of what it is, you tested positive. It's not a hidden thing what they're testing for. I'm a very black and white type of guy. Competing at the level we do is an unbelievable privilege and it needs to be respective. Whether you agree with some of the technicalities or the gray areas, we have a right and obligation to stay within those boundaries to do what we do for a living. I don't care if it's marijuana or what it is. It's still a positive test. The commission is likely turning the win over to a no contest and we're under a 90 day suspension. These are real consequences to real life. My comment on the whole marijuana issue is, until it's not illegal, it's illegal and you have to deal with that."
Of course he also let's his complete support of Healy known among other things in this article:

Overall, I think Pat and his team handled this like men, and it kinda bums me out since he looks like a great guy and I don't know if he's ever going to get such a perfect payday in his career. I hope he does.

And NO, it's not the "right thing to do" to give Healy a bonus he does not deserve. This is why you're being fallacious, he broke the rules and HE HIMSELF has accepted the consequences and did not cry foul or boo hoo like a lot of people here. That is completely asinine to give back an employee a bonus when he used banned substances.
To use a better analogy, should your boss award you at work for showing up drunk? even if you're super productive? No, because drinking at work is irresponsible and you've got to drive home later so that's even more reason to not get your bonus and get fired. Fortunately for Healy companies like the UFC are forgiving and don't fire you like most employers would for FAILING A DRUG TEST. Caraway does not owe Healy jack **** and you know it.

Good
news, pot-smoking Olympians: the agency that sets the rules around
Olympic drug use is loosening its standards for marijuana.
Basically, the new rules will test for people smoking in the hours or days before a competition instead of weeks and months.
The policy change might affect other international sports, as well.
More than 600 other sports associations use the code set by the group,
the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
