MMAJunkie reporting:

“I don’t think there’s anything for me at the lightweight division,” he told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). “I already beat everyone at lightweight or I fought everyone already. The only person who beat me was Ben, and Gil’s going to handle him Saturday. I’m going to sit around and fight the guys all over again? Boring. There’s no motivation in that. I’d rather fight someone new.”

**** I agree this is like BJ moving up to 170....he's much better off at 155.

I see this going just like his last stint at 170.  Almost every top 10 welterweight is a wrestler.

one of the stupidest things he could have done, I´m a a big fan of Nate but this is NOT a good move for him, unless he puts on a significant amount of musscle (which I doubt) he has nothing to do in WW he won´t get past Marquardt, Maia, Ellenberger, Kos, Rory, Hendricks, Condit and so on and on.  smarten up Nate!

How many wins does he have at lightweight? Nine. Only four people he fought at lightweight are still in the UFC. There are plenty of fights for him at lightweight. Stay at lightweight.

He got rag dolled at 170. He beat Rory Markham and Marcus Davis, both of whom are no longer in the UFC. There are plenty of LW he hasn't fought, and there could be some good rematches as well.

I like Nate but this would be a really dumb move. I thought it was dumb when he did it before. He came back to 155 after getting suplexed 400 times against Rory, and look how well he's done. He would just get thrown around again if he continued to fight at 155.

Hopefully Nate changes his mind after Henderson beats Gil. I think Nate's considering moving b/c he won't fight Melendez more so than he doesn't want to fight at 155 any more. Plus, there's still a ton of good winnable fights for Nate at 155, unlike at 170 where there aren't really any good fights that are winnable for him. Nate could fight Pettis, Aldo, Grant, Sanchez, Lauzon, etc.

Agree with the house.  Nate is ill-advised to move up.  I can't see him displacing anyone in the WW Top 10.

I believe he is thinking this way because of Melendez coming over and because he finds the weight-cut harder and harder.  But his chances at WW are indeed slim.  Unless he put on a lot of extra muscle.

I've learned to never to believe what one of the diaz's says until it happens. Nate is under new management and if they let him move up, he is better of going back to gracie

I really think this is a mistake. I think he's better at LW and would have alot of problems dealing with all the strength his opponents would have at WW.
I think him moving back up would be a mistake and I think if he doe after two or three fights he will move down again.

Nate needs to stay at 155 unless it's a striker at 170.
