217lbs! Wow, i never thought Marcus would be that big, it must have exhausted him to cut that much weight.... I think he looks great at 155 though and gained some speed from losing some of the mass he carried around, not to mention he's not nearly disadvantaged in height and reach. These two articles are making me that much more excited to see Marcus fight!

Yeah obviously Marcus is a unique case, but this makes me think most fighters are walking around much higher than most fans believe. I think most fans tag on an extra 10 to 20lbs max to a fighter's weigh-in weight when estimating their natural weight, when it's probably closer to 30+lbs. I know an in-shape Dan Lauzon was walking around at 185lbs when I was training at his gym a few years ago, while Joe Lauzon was only in the mid 160s.

Your probably right being around the fight game more than I, hopefully i'll make it to some fan expo's this year somehow and be able to compare myself to a GSP or someone in the WW division being my normal walk around weight is 185 - meaning i'm probably the size of most LW's.....

What he's describing sounds a little like Celiac, but that's more of an intolerance to gluten.  I didn't think Marcus was walking around at well over 200 pounds.  I figured maybe 190 - 195.  It sucks that he found out about this condition so late in his career.  Hopefully his new diet makes a difference and we get to see him go on a streak and back in the UFC.  I personally want to see him in Bellator though so he could fight Eddie Alvarez.  That would be an awesome fight.

Seeing him in Bellator would be pretty cool. I don't think it's going to happen, but you never know. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see him sign an extension with MFC if he wins both of these fights with the promotion. They are putting together some solid shows. Not great enough to be considered Bellator or Strikeforce-level, but certainly a few steps above regional shows. MFC, Tachi FC, and Shark Fights are probably the tier below Bellator.
