Din Thomas Wiki

Now well into his thirties, Din Thomas began fighting professionally in 1998. He was once considered one of the best lightweights in the world following wins over Matt Serra, Rich Clementi, Clay Guida, and Jeremy Stephens. Thomas sports extremely high level Jiu-Jitsu among his best fighting attributes. Unfortunately for Thomas, he is also well known for some of his losing efforts. He was famously knocked out by BJ Penn at UFC 32 in 2001 in one of “The Prodigy’s” signature performances.

Outside of his professional fighting career, Thomas was arrested in October of 2007 on charges of felony prohibited competitions in connection with an underground fight, but was let off since the members of the competition were part of Thomas’s martial arts school, which fell under an exception to the law.

On January 2, 2014, Thomas announced his decision to retire from active competition. He also announced plans to start up his own fight scouting company.
