A high profile Japanese mixed martial arts fighter sporting a losing professional record, Daiju Takase was a mainstay in the two biggest promotions in Japanese MMA history: Pride FC and Pancrase. Although he has suffered dominant losses to everyone from Nate Marquardt and Jeremy Horn to Hayato Sakurai and Hector Lombard, Takase is known for his Pride debut upset victory over 600-pound Sumo wrestler Emmanuel Yarborough, as well as his 2003 Triangle Choke submission victory over future UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.
