Takashige Hirukawa Wiki
In 2009 Hirukawa travelled to Burma / Myanmar where competed under Burmese Lethwei-rules in the annual "Myanmar vs Japan Friendly Fight" event. ( a 'team vs team' event ..)
He would take on Tway Ma Shuang, who is one of the legendary and revered Burmese fighters of Lethwei / Burmese kickboxing ( who often competes up several weight classes / against all comers .... ) He would fair well in the contest, landing many trips and throws successfully, and even some of his own strikes - to the applause of the partisan Burmese audience. However in the closing minutes of round 2 he would finally succumb to Shuang's striking onslaught - the referee waving off the bout as Hirukawa struggled to make the '8 count'.
Although a tough loss - the overmatched Hirukawa gave a very solid display against one of the best strikers to ever walk the earth - had it been under MMA-rules , the result would probably have been a clean and concise victory for "Crazy Hill" - likely via throw or trip - followed by submission hold, or ground strike stoppage .. ( however this all hypothetical thinking ..).
