Brian Brooks Wiki

Brian Brooks was born on June 21, 1990 in a tiny town in Eastern Oregon.  He was a hyperactive kid who spent every waking moment on the move, running and biking and anything else he could think of.  When he was 12 his family moved to the coast, where he kept active but could add water sports to his fun.  As an adult he chose an area in the upper corner of Washington that provided him his best opportunities yet.

Brian Brooks' sports career started at the age of five with youth soccer and T-ball, both of which he excelled at.  He continued those through his junior high years, adding freestyle wrestling in by the age of eight and basketball at age ten.  At the age of 12 he was offered a spot on a USA soccer team that was to tour Amsterdam and play other countries.  He did football in junior high, as well as continuing with basketball, baseball and wrestling, and adding track for a while.  By high school he narrowed his concentration to football and wrestling, and by the end of high school he was focused on wrestling which helped fuel his love of MMA.  As an adult he spent about one year studying Kenpo karate, going undefeated in two tournaments despite his lack of experience.

He and his younger brother, Shane, would watch MMA constantly.  They would clear out their room of all furniture and such, using the room as their battleground for MMA practice.  By the time he was out of school he had found a place in his coastal town to train solely for MMA, and he spent every moment he could in training.  He soon was called upon to help train the more inexperienced, and he was often matched up against much larger opponents because of his ability to hold his own against anyone no matter the size.

As a young adult he found himself often homeless and struggling due to circumstances out of his control.  Instead of giving up and becoming one of the members of the area's underbelly, he poured his all into keeping his mind straight.  When he lived in a camper on the beach, he would take his pit bull for runs along the coastline.  When he would have to carry all his possessions, he would do curls with them.  He would work hard, physical jobs to support himself.  He never gave up on himself, because he knows the only place you go when you give up is straight down.

As an adult, he works six days a week to support his family and his awesome dog, and he trains for hours a day seven days a week.  His first fight was on 10/13/12 against Alec Faccone, which ended in a first round knockout win for Brian.  His second fight, weeks later on 11/03/12, was against Josh Wixon and ended as a second round referee stoppage, also a win for Brian.  He looks forward to his next match and is already training and moving in the upward direction he has strived for his whole life.
