Michele Broili is an Italian boxer more known for his fascist sympathies and Neo-nazi tattoos than his skill in the ring. He caused national outrage when he appeared on a national Italian broadcast, giving a Nazi salute before his fight, and sporting tattoos of an SS Flag, the Death Hand, and the numeric symbol "88." He lost the fight to Moroccan native Hassan Nourdine, who said he found the tattoos "obscene" and noted that inciting hatred is punishable by Italian law. Broili was subsequently suspended by the Italian Federation of Boxing pending an investigation.
